I am in love!!! Although, you could have asked me if I was over the span of the last four years and my answer would have been the same as it is today "yes"...but now more than ever...and my love for the wonderful man I finally get to call my husband continues to grow each day. It grows each morning when he wakes me before he leaves for work to tell me he loves me and kiss me good-bye whether I'm completely conscious or half asleep because it's 6-something in the morning and my mind isn't ready to function yet. It grows each evening when he walks thru the door and wraps his arms around me and plants a big one on my lips before he does anything else. It grows each night as he gives me the daily good-night kiss and tells me, as he has many times throughout the day, that he loves me. It grows during the little experiences like a "movie night in" and the big experiences like every wonderful moment of our honeymoon. It grows when he makes me smile, when he makes me laugh, when he says something sweet and even when he does nothing at all but glance my way.
I am the luckiest girl in the world because I am married to the man of my dreams, to the one man I was born to love, to my best friend.
Our first month as newlyweds was wonderful. We began our first month with our honeymoon in Hawaii (enough said). Hawaii was absolutely gorgeous...a perfect spot for a honeymoon. I would definitely recommend it, if you're trying to determine a romantic spot for your next vacation. We stayed in a wonderful hotel right on the beach. We took surfing lessons, went scuba diving, played on the beach, went for a nature hike, attended a luau (my favorite experience) and visited Pearl Harbor. Upon flying into Dallas from our honeymoon, we jumped on another plane to go to Missouri for Eddie's nephew's graduation. We finally made it back into Dallas that Saturday and returned to Midland on Sunday.
We've stayed pretty busy since...
We both stayed in Midland the weekend after our return...which was wonderful. It was nice to stay in place. We were able to get some things done around our house, run some errands, and even attended a RockHounds game (Midland's minor league baseball team). To top it off, we had a X-Men marathon...to get me up-to-date for the newest X-Men movie.
The following weekend was our first weekend apart since the wedding. I know we used to spend a lot of time apart because of our long-distance relationship of 2 1/2 years, but this weekend wasn't the same...after uniting as one it was so much harder to say good-bye, even if it was only for a day & 1/2. I had to come to Dallas, because my sister scheduled a bridesmaid shopping day (to pick out our bridesmaid dresses for her wedding...she's getting married in October) for that Sunday, but Eddie really wasn't in the mood to travel so soon, so he stayed in Midland. I missed him so much!!!
That weekend was also Mother's Day weekend...so I got to kill two birds with one stone, because I also got to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom. But the sweetest part was, when I returned back to Midland and walked in the door, I spotted the prettiest lillies sitting on the table. I asked Eddie where they came from and he told me they were from Rascal, Dakota and Sassy for Mother's Day (Rascal is our Rottweiler, Dakota is our Lab, and Sassy is our ShihTzu). I know many people will think that's cheesy, but I thought it was amazingly sweet!!!
The next weekend we had to travel back to Dallas for a friend's wedding (I was a bridesmaid)...it was our first wedding as Mr. & Mrs. Webb. Eddie was absolutely wonderful!! First of all, our dogs were all due for their annual shots, and although I knew he would have rather spent the day with his family, he joined me to take our herd to the dreaded vet...remember, we have three (two big and one small) so visiting the vet is not the best idea of how to spend an afternoon, not to mention we decided to go on the day in which my vet hosts their Shot Clinic, so the clinic was literally overflowing with animals...FUN!!!...but Eddie went and kept me company. Additionally, I know weddings are not the ideal place to be for men, but Eddie was a trooper. Not only did he attend, but he also videotaped and took pictures, helped carry packages, and so much more. That night was a wonderful evening. We even got to dance...they played the song our wedding song was based off of...and he swept me off my feet!!!
But now we have finally reached a weekend in which we can stay in place. Tomorrow is the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and we have no plans and we are thrilled!!! I know it sounds odd to be excited about doing nothing, but we couldn't be happier.
That's it in a nutshell for our first month as newlyweds. Stay tuned for more happily married moments!!
