Two Month Celebration!!

OK, so I know it might sound cheesy to some people, but last night Eddie and I celebrated our Two Month Wedding Anniversary. I know to couples that have been married for 20, 30, 40 years, two months is so minuscule, but it meant something to us, and we wanted to celebrate it. Don't worry, we didn't do anything crazy, like a spur-of-the-moment trip to Mexico, or anything...it was a simple dinner at Logan's Roadhouse...just the two of us. And it was nice!!

If you think about, there are couples that run out and get married and within a week or two or three they're down at the courthouse filing for an anulment. Not that I ever expected for Eddie and I to fall into those shoes, but who does...who goes into their wedding day thinking "I'm going to be anuling this thing in a week from now"? So, to think that we've already outlasted some marriages is a big step...something worth celebrating in my mind.

Not to mention, it's the little things that count...so why not celebrate them?!?!?! Are you in love...why not celebrate it?!?!?! Did you have a good week...why not celebrate it?!?!?! Does it always have to be the big things that constitute a celebration? NO!!

I have to wonder if all marriages went into each day like Eddie and I, if the divorce rate wouldn't be lower. I'm sure you're thinking to yourself...well, you've only been married two months...just wait until 5 years have gone by...or 10...and see if you still have the same "lovey-dovey" mind set you have now. Even more, wait until you have kids!! True, we may only have limited experience in the realm of married couples, I'll give you that, but what does our four-year relationship say for us...what about the survival of a 2 1/2 year long-distance-relationship? I know we don't compare to a couple that has been married for 50 years, but I'd like to think that on our 50th (year) anniversary, that we'll be that little old couple, walking thru the park, holding hands...more in love than ever...with a million or more celebrations in our memories for the microscopic events of our life together!!

Two Months of Wedding Bliss

Well, we've survived the 1st two months!!! Exactly two months ago today, Eddie and I exchanged vows and said our "I do's". It was such a WONDERFUL day...I just wish it wouldn't have flown by so quickly.

It has been so nice to be married to the man I love, but MANN, a newlywed woman has LOTS to do!! I've already received my new drivers license and social security card, plus I changed my name in my banking accounts. BUT, I still have to change over my credit cards and accounts like my phone. It was exciting receiving the new documents and cards, though. Just seemed to make it that much more official. "Mrs. Magan Webb!!!" I'm still getting used to it, but it makes me smile just thinking about it!!

For the last five weeks, Eddie and I have been in Midland enjoying married life. All of last year we spent so many weekends traveling back and forth between Midland and Dallas for one reason or another. So, since we had no major event bringing us back to Dallas during the last five weeks, we decided to stay home. And, although we've stayed busy for most of it, it has been very relaxing and definitely enjoyable. We've been able to just enjoy each other's company, spend time with our dogs, do a little working out, spend some time in our yard, PLUS we've done stuff like go to the movies, enjoyed a few date nights at local restaurants, had some "game nights" in, experienced Summer Mummers for the first time (Summer Mummers is a summer theatre show in Midland...if you're ever in Midland during the summer I recommend it...it was LOTS of fun, although probably better if you can go as a group) and last weekend we bought a Wii (which is SUPER fun!!).

I've really enjoyed being a married woman...thanks to my loving husband!! Thanks sweetness...I LOVE YOU!!! Happy 2 Months!!

While The Men Are Away, The Women Will Play!!

Eddie has decided that on our next trip to Dallas, he wants to spend some quality time with his family. So, while he's away, I'm planning to host a Girl's Night Out with my friends.

I love the Girl's Night Out's...it's always nice to get together with my friends to enjoy a nice meal and catch up. I know these nights have changed quite a bit from when I was in my early 20s...it used to be that when you heard those three little words, next came digging thru the closet, like you were on a treasure hunt or something, for that perfect hot little outfit for a crazy night out on the town...but somewhere between my 24's and my 28's the definition for that three-word term shifted. Now it's all about finding that cozy, quiet little corner of the cutest girlie cafe possible, so you can fill it with laughter and giggles, smiles and hugs, memories and rememberances. There's no more need to dig out the perfect "eye candy" of a top and high heels, because it's no longer about how many numbers you can get in a night...it's all about how many stories you can tell, how many memories you can dig up, how many laughs you can have. It's about cherishing your friendships!!

Get The Dirt On The Webbs

Eddie and I continued to enjoy not having to travel to Dallas for yet another weekend...this past weekend. I thought we were going to have a weekend in, but we actually had a weekend out...in our yard, that is.

Last week, during one of my work days, I was going thru the newspaper looking for stories/ads on/about the Chamber, and I came across an article on a cafe at a local garden. I wasn't aware we had a garden in Midland...so I was intrigued. Additionally, this was a restaurant Eddie and I had never visited, and we are always looking for new places to eat, so we decided to go on Saturday for lunch. While researching the place online in an attempt to figure out where it was located, I discovered that this garden was merely a nursery...however, dispite my disappointment that Midland did not have it's own arboretum, I was still interrested in visiting to try out the "new" cafe.

The cafe was a nice "cute" little place. We really liked the "patio" area. The patio tables surrounded a pond/fountain area that included nice plants and flowers. The pond even had large goldfish. And, despite the fact that it was already in the mid-90's outside, the area was kept nice and cool from outside fans and a patio cover. The food was good too. We really had a nice lunch.

After lunch, we wondered around the nursery. And although I walked into the place, asking Eddie to keep me from spending lots of money, we walked out of there with a palate of Impatience and Bagonias, garden soil and top soil...and found ourselves on our way to Lowes to pick up more watering hoses and other gardening supplies. And, before the weekend was over, I returned to the nursery for more flowers.

I spent Saturday afternoon/evening in the flower bed that surrounds our backyard tree...digging out weeds to make room for our new flowers. It was an AWESOME workout!! Sunday morning, we woke up...it was back to the yard to finish what was started the day before. We spent all Sunday working on our yard. And although it was hard work and left my back & neck screeming for a massage, it was relaxing in a way.

Eddie and I had a really good time working on the yard together. And the excitment has carried on into the week...every day when we get home from work we go outside to inspect our yard. We look for new flowers or just to see if the plants are expanding in growth...it's like we have a yard full of "little babies"
