Two Month Celebration!!

OK, so I know it might sound cheesy to some people, but last night Eddie and I celebrated our Two Month Wedding Anniversary. I know to couples that have been married for 20, 30, 40 years, two months is so minuscule, but it meant something to us, and we wanted to celebrate it. Don't worry, we didn't do anything crazy, like a spur-of-the-moment trip to Mexico, or anything...it was a simple dinner at Logan's Roadhouse...just the two of us. And it was nice!!

If you think about, there are couples that run out and get married and within a week or two or three they're down at the courthouse filing for an anulment. Not that I ever expected for Eddie and I to fall into those shoes, but who does...who goes into their wedding day thinking "I'm going to be anuling this thing in a week from now"? So, to think that we've already outlasted some marriages is a big step...something worth celebrating in my mind.

Not to mention, it's the little things that count...so why not celebrate them?!?!?! Are you in love...why not celebrate it?!?!?! Did you have a good week...why not celebrate it?!?!?! Does it always have to be the big things that constitute a celebration? NO!!

I have to wonder if all marriages went into each day like Eddie and I, if the divorce rate wouldn't be lower. I'm sure you're thinking to yourself...well, you've only been married two months...just wait until 5 years have gone by...or 10...and see if you still have the same "lovey-dovey" mind set you have now. Even more, wait until you have kids!! True, we may only have limited experience in the realm of married couples, I'll give you that, but what does our four-year relationship say for us...what about the survival of a 2 1/2 year long-distance-relationship? I know we don't compare to a couple that has been married for 50 years, but I'd like to think that on our 50th (year) anniversary, that we'll be that little old couple, walking thru the park, holding hands...more in love than ever...with a million or more celebrations in our memories for the microscopic events of our life together!!
